Membership:

We believe "Membership" in one of the Lord's churches is a sound New Testament position. The New Testament churches were independent congregations that governed themselves and their business. We subscribe to this position. In a congregational form of church government, authority rests in the congregation under Jesus Christ who is the Head. Though many churches today are discounting the need for membership in a local church the Bible principal of congregation and membership remains sound.

South County receives "members" into the congregation by Baptism, Transfer and/or Statement.

By Baptism

Any person who has trusted Jesus Christ as his or her own Savior from their sins can make a public profession of salvation by being baptized, if they have not already done so since trusting Jesus Christ.

Faith in Jesus Christ saves from the penalty of sin and adds one to the "Family" of God; upon Baptism the Lord adds us to His Church (Acts 2:41 & 47).

By Transfer

Having been saved from sin's penalty through faith in Christ and scripturally baptized by another New Testament Church, you may join by the promise of a letter from the last church where you were a member.

By Statement

If you have been a member in good standing of another New Testament Church and for some reason are unable to transfer your membership from that church (no longer in existence, etc.) you may join by statement of your faith and baptism.
